In this taster workshop, you will learn the basics of pottery, focusing on small wheel-thrown pieces, including handleless cups, trinket dishes, and bowls. After throwing, you will then choose a colour to have your pots glazed in.
Make up to 2-3 pieces, which will be trimmed and then fired in our kilns twice. Pots will be ready to collect 3-5 weeks later.
This workshop has a maximum capacity of 3 electric wheels and two kick wheels and lasts for 2h 30.
Standing kick wheels offer a traditional pottery experience and give you more control over your speed. It is a full-body experience with your legs pushing the pedal to work harmoniously with your hands.
Electric wheels can be more convenient for long pottery sessions or for people with physical limitations.
This workshop can be messy! Please wear old clothes and allow 20 minutes at the end for clean-up and selecting your desired glaze for your pot. Recommended for ages 8 and over.
If you already have a voucher and are interested in one of these dates, please email me directly with the name of the person who booked the voucher, and I will schedule the session for you. hardmanceramics@gmail.com
